It's a book party!
If you are Arkansas local, or you can get here, we'll be launching Life, Motherhood & the Pursuit of the Perfect Handbag at Wordsworth Bookstore in Little Rock on April 16, 2026! So save the date! Buy a ticket on their website. (You'll get a book and a seat at the signing!)
I'll be in conversation with Julia Hamra, who narrated the audiobook (it's super good!)

I have a manager for film & TV work!
I'm now managed by Stephan Dubreuil of Woolf+Lapin of Montreal, Canada.
What is a manager you ask? Well, I have an answer -- "Managers are there to help develop you, your writing talents, and your scripts for acquisition and potential writing assignments…. Managers go deeper than that though. They will work with you through multiple drafts of your scripts, helping you to not only hone your writing, but also to get your script(s) to where managers think they need to be for companies to consider them for acquisition.”
This post explains it better than I ever could.

And... I'm a semi-finalist in the Cinestory TV Retreat and Fellowship!
So I'll be going to Idyllwild, California in May to hang out with a bunch of screenwriters and filmmakers and get to nerd out about story.
Thanks so much for continuing to read and support!
Talk with you soon,
Emily

Three Things I Love...
A Dress
Technically a skirt and top, from Boden. I love it, but last time I checked, it was sold out.
Hope you have better luck!

A Place
Graceland! I tried to go to Graceland 30 years ago, but didn't realize they were closed on Tuesdays back then, so my friend and I ate BBQ instead. Now, I've finally visited, and y'all. It's cool.

A Book (or Movie)
Have you heard about Project Hail Mary? The book was so good (and I highly recommend the audiobook), and now it's coming out as a movie. I can't wait.

My Books
Lifestyles of Gods & Monsters is a modern, reality-TV retelling of the story of the Minotaur. It follows 17-year-old Ariadne, famous since she was born, as she fights to save her brother and make her own destiny in a world where celebrity, surveillance, and a manufactured "reality" play out in a landscape of gods and monsters. Life, Motherhood & the Pursuit of the Perfect Handbag is a laugh-out-loud funny look at the trials and joys of working parenthood and a great read for anyone (with children or not) who can't figure out how to meet expectations at work and in her personal life while keeping space for her own ambitions and dreams.
